Terms, Compliance & Disclosures

Full compliance disclosures, terms of service, and educational use disclaimers for Goldstein & Co. LLC — California capital-gains planning, SIS & CRT placement coordination.

Important disclosures

Educational content only — not tax, legal, or accounting advice. All discussion of tax treatment, brackets, deductions, deferrals, and savings is illustrative based on federal and California law as of May 2026 and may change. Consult your CPA, estate planning attorney, and a licensed structured-settlement specialist before acting on any sale structure.

About the calculator

The calculator on this site uses simplified approximations for IRS Publication 1457 CRT remainder factors, CRT WIFO distribution tiers, and §453A interest charges. SIS annuity yields are illustrative; locked rates are quoted by the placing structured-settlement broker at execution and change weekly. GUL premium estimates assume preferred-class underwriting; actual offers depend on full medical underwriting. The calculator is not a substitute for a written illustration from the placing carrier.

Insurance & annuity products

Insurance and annuity products are issued by the carrier — not bank deposits, not FDIC insured, not guaranteed by any bank or government agency. Annuity guarantees are subject to the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance carrier. California Life and Health Insurance Guarantee Association (CLHIGA) coverage is limited to 80% of present value with a $250,000 cap per insured.

How placement works

Hans Goldstein does not currently hold direct carrier appointments for SIS (Structured Installment Sale) placement. SIS placement is referred to and executed by carrier-appointed structured-settlement specialists, with whom Hans maintains co-broker referral arrangements. CRT (Charitable Remainder Trust) drafting is performed by the seller’s estate planning attorney. Hans’s role is modeling, seller education, and coordination with the seller’s CPA and estate attorney.

Producer compensation

On placed contracts, compensation flows from the issuing carrier to the carrier-appointed placing broker, which then pays Hans Goldstein a referral or co-broker split. Compensation rates vary by product, carrier, contract size, and structure type. Full compensation disclosure is provided in writing on every case prior to placement. Under California SB 263, all annuity recommendations are made under a best-interest standard.

No carrier endorsement

Yield assumptions and structural illustrations on this site are not endorsements of, nor offers from, any specific insurance carrier or broker. References to “A+ AM Best-rated” and “A− KBRA-rated” carrier categories are generic; specific carrier selection, current rates, and product features are determined by the placing structured-settlement specialist at execution.

No tax or legal advice

All references to IRC sections (§453, §453A, §483, §664, §121, §1031, §170, §691, §1014, §72), Treasury Regulations, Revenue Rulings, and IRS Notices are educational only and not professional advice. Tax and legal interpretation of your specific facts requires a licensed CPA, EA, or attorney admitted to practice in your jurisdiction.

California-focused site

This site is designed for California sellers of California-situs assets. Hans Goldstein is licensed as an insurance & annuity producer in California (NPN 20602398). Hans does work with sellers in other states through co-broker arrangements with producers licensed in those jurisdictions; for non-California situations, please call to discuss whether a referral arrangement can be coordinated for your state.

Calculator outputs are illustrative only

All dollar figures, percentage savings, break-even yields, and structural recommendations produced by the calculator are educational illustrations based on simplified tax rules and 2026 federal + California assumptions. They do not constitute a tax projection, financial plan, or specific recommendation. Actual taxes, returns, and outcomes will differ based on your specific facts.
